Courtesy of Sony Insider, Allen Tyson stated that when he was at Gamescom 2009 he had some hands on time with DC Universe and Wes Yanagi the Senior Producer of Sony Online Entertainment revealed that DC Universe will not have a subscription fee to play. On top of that Allen also stated in his article that the game plays very well and that he liked, that the game is more action based compared to other MMOs on the market.

I know a ton of ppl that are going to play, especially if there isnt a monthly fee

Actually worries me. Every MMO without a subscription fee hasn't been able to keep up the gamer's issues and fall behind in quality. Hopefully DCUO will be the exception.

I think Sony are aware of this. Prior F2P companies have been mostly startups.
This could become a flagship game for the pS3. I'm sure it'll get the investment needed.

Hey all, I thought I would set up an information thread for those of you wanting to find out more about DC Universe Online. First off, DCUO is Sony Online Entertainment's first ever MMORPG for the Playstation 3. The concept of the whole game is that you now have the choice to enter the world of DC and make your own path whether it be fighting along Batman preventing the likes of the Joker from taking over Gothan City to aiding the Joker instead in his insane campaign of terrorism. You create your own hero or villain with a unique list of powers consisting of pretty much every super power you could ever think of. Jim Lee, comic book artist for DC has helped the development of the game by supplying the artwork for all the characters in the game.

Should Definitely update this since DCUO 'WILL' Contain a Monthly fee subscription!!
